3 MINUTE MEAL...FROM SECOND PETER
II PETER 1:4 (NASB)
For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent
promises, so that by them you may become partakers of divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
Here's a simple paraphrase of the verse...
By God's brightness and power (vs.3) He gave us the “mega-est” and most
desirable promises so that we can be partners in Gods nature, because we have
escaped the moral decay that is in the world because of wrong desires.
A FEW THOUGHTS...
† It is God's power (not ours) that makes it possible for us to be a partner in His
divine nature.
† God is the One who has provided what we need, therefore, we know He wants
us to be a partner with Him in His divine nature.
† We must stand on what He promises in order to experience His divine nature.
† Wrong desires bring corruption.
A Few Questions To Ask Yourself...
Who has really done the work in this verse?
What does God offer me out of His work and power?
How good are His promises? (based on what the verse says)
To what degree do you daily experience partnership with God?
Are you convinced that it is God's desire for you to be a partner in His nature?
What wrong desires are corrupting "your world"?
Are you convinced God's promises are true, and are for you?
